A Holset power turbine works hand-in-hand with the Holset turbocharger by driving power back through the crankshaft by extracting energy from the exhaust stream; this is known as a turbocompound system. Both radial and axial power turbines are available for a variety of heavy-duty applications.
As part of a turbocompound system, it is proven in the field to improve fuel efficiency on heavy-duty engines.
